Best suited for students with little to advanced proficiency who wish to learn English for half the day, with personal time to explore the city.
Program covers all of the major language skills including: grammar, vocabulary, conversation, pronunciation, listening comprehension, reading, and writing.
Class Schedule:
All incoming students are required to take the English placement test for placement into the appropriate course level. Upon completion of each level, students will progress in a sequential manner through the program. To achieve your personal goals, students can consult with our academic student advisors on the recommended program length.
For students with little or no English proficiency. Students learn to understand simple questions and basic statements on familiar topics when spoken very slowly and distinctly. Students learn to read and understand basic English structures.
For students with elementary English proficiency. Students learn to use familiar everyday expressions, converse in social situations, and ask simple questions.
Students will be able to comprehend descriptive sentences and frequently used expressions, and can communicate in simple social and academic situations.
Students can comprehend most conversations and discussions on familiar subjects and participate effectively in group settings. Students will be able to use more vocabulary and write with greater ease.
Students can understand main ideas of complex texts and interact with native speakers without strain. Students should also be able to speak fluently and use idiomatic expressions in colloquial conversation.
Designed to refine a student’s ability to excel in an academic and professional environment, students focus on reading, writing, and fluency production through complex and immersive activities.
For students who have completed ESL 6. This course helps students build confidence in oral communication through structured speaking practice, including impromptu and prepared speeches. Emphasis is placed on pronunciation, delivery, audience engagement, and organizing ideas clearly for academic or professional presentations.
Designed for students interested in English for the workplace. The course emphasizes professional vocabulary and communication skills used in meetings, interviews, emails, and presentations. Students also explore workplace etiquette and cross-cultural business practices.
A college-style course preparing students for academic success in U.S. universities. Students strengthen reading, writing, discussion, and research skills while engaging in projects that mirror college-level expectations. The course includes time management, note-taking, and academic integrity topics.
This course enhances advanced presentation skills through the study and practice of TED Talk-style speeches. Students analyze real talks for structure, style, and delivery, then apply techniques to create and perform their own engaging presentations with visual and verbal clarity.
Focused on building effective test-taking strategies for standardized English proficiency exams such as TOEFL or IELTS. Students learn time management, question analysis, and test-specific techniques while reinforcing grammar, listening, reading, and writing skills in a test format.
We offer open admissions for this program, allowing students to enroll on any Monday. However, we recommend students to begin class at the start of each quarter as detailed below.
Completion of a course level requires 1 quarter (approximately 3 months). Please refer to the start dates above.
